Beth, the Blogger

While up in New York this past weekend, Molly suggested I think about starting my own blog. I had thought about it several months ago, but I was still too sick to really do what I wanted with it.

There are several reasons I wanted to start this blog. First and foremost, I wanted a way to keep in touch with all the people I love. I want to share all of my exciting new adventures with the people that stood by me during the hardest time of my life. Without all of your support over the past five years, there is no way I could have made it through.

This blog will also be a personal journal of my progress. The recovery process takes a lot of hard work, and I'm sure over the next several months (and years!), I will encounter many ups and downs. I get better every day, and with so many new things on the horizon, this blog will be a record of both what I achieve and what continues to challenge me.

I'm also very excited about this blog because it is a great forum for me to really get back into writing. For too long I was unable to express myself the way I always had in my life.

Finally, this blog will, quite simply, be a way to truly give thanks for all of my blessings. I have so much to be thankful for: a loving and supportive family, wonderful friends, and now my health. It's so important to remember why I fought so hard to get better.

I love you all.
